Students can be immunized by public health nurses, said Doug Mormann, director of the La Crosse County Health Department, as long as parents sign permission forms for the children to receive the vaccine. The clinics also are open to other members of the public in the high-risk groups.
For H1N1 vaccine clinics, high-risk groups include pregnant women, people who live with or care for infants age 6 months or younger, people age 6 months to 24 years and those age 25 to 64 with chronic medical conditions.
School flu clinics coming up include the following.
Franciscan Skemp also will conduct a flu shot clinic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Onalaska clinic. For an appointment, call 392-6800.
