Evelyn Charlotte Paisley

MINDORO — Evelyn Charlotte Paisley, 100, of Mindoro died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse.

Evelyn was born Nov. 14, 1908, in the Town of Farmington to Charles and Eva (Howard) Stetzer. She was a member of the Mindoro Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years and held several offices in both the church and the United Presbyterian Women’s organizations. Evelyn married Budd Paisley on April 20, 1928, and lived in the Mindoro area all her life.

She is survived by her son, Donavon (Joanne) Paisley of Weston, Mo.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Iona Lieske of Centralia, Wash.; two sisters-in-law, Leona Paisley of Holmen and Nathila Stetzer of West Salem; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Budd; her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Darrel Welda; four brothers, Gordon, Howard, Glen, and Leonard Stetzer; and two sisters, Hazel Costello and Beatrice Fallert.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Mindoro Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Cindy Arndt will officiate. Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery, Mindoro. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Town of Farmington First Responders.

Jostad-Jandt Funeral Home, West Salem, is in charge of arrangements.
