Naomi Ruth Gille
TREMPEALEAU — Naomi Ruth Gille, 81, of Washington and formerly of the Trempealeau area, died peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in Washington.
She was born April 4, 1927, in Bristol, England, to William and Emily (Pigeon) Lee. On Feb. 28, 1945, she married Frank Gille. She left her family and home in England to join Frank in America. Now she has left her family to join him once again.
Ruth lived many years on the farm in the Fountain City, Wis., area. The couple moved to Trempealeau in 1967 and became charter members of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Galesville. Later in life, she enjoyed working for the wildlife refuge in Trempealeau.
Survivors are four daughters, Elizabeth (Bruce) Bennett of Brazoria, Texas, Judith (Charles) Wamsley of Bangor, Caroline (Thomas) Gruenwald of Adams, Wis., and Theresa (Stephen) Furlan of Edgewood, Wash.; two sons, Paul (Susan) Gille and Christopher (Tammy) Gile, both of Wichita Falls, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Smith of England; and her special friends from Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, of 53 years; an infant daughter; and a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Bennett.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m. in Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Galesville, with the Rev. Nathan Strutz officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fountain City Public Cemetery, Fountain City. Friends may call at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Zwickey Funeral Homes, Galesville Chapel, is assisting the family.
