The Coulee Region Humane Society will hold its seventh annual Bark in the Park on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at La Crosse's Copeland Park.

Activities that dogs and their owners can participate in at the Bark in the Park include:

  • Arfy Art Studio to make pets into Picassos.

  • Agility equipment for fun and demonstrations.

  • Pampering at the Pet Boutique.

  • Mutt Merchants featuring dog care goods and services, organizations of interest to pet owners, booths with innovative products and places to pick up free goodies.

  • Dog-themed carnival games.

  • Canine costume contest.

  • The Photographer for professional pet photos.

  • Silent auction.

  • Critter Cash raffle offering a chance to win one of five cash prizes.

  • Doggie games and contests.

  • Food including T-Bone’s pork sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, cotton candy and ice cream

  • And, to cap it all off, the Big Bark at 1 p.m., which will bring all the dogs at the event together to combine their collective barking in an effort to beat the Guinness World Record for the loudest combined dog bark, previously set at the Bark in the Park.

To learn more about registration, pledge opportunities and the event itself, log onto www.couleehumane.com/bark_in_the_park.htm or call 781-4014.
