Police reports

The following log is based on reports from the West Salem and Bangor police departments.

West Salem

For the period of June 27 through July 11, the West Salem Police Department wrote 30 traffic citations, wrote five municipal citations, issued 12 warnings, responded to three accidents and wrote four parking tickets. The following is a selection of incidents.

Sunday, June 29

2:28 p.m. — A boy was medically treated at Swarthout Swimming Pool after he dove into the pool and injured his head. He was taken to a hospital and was treated and released.

Monday, July 7

4:50 a.m. — A 24-year-old West Salem man was cited for disorderly conduct after a fight was reported on the 800 block of West Avenue N.

7:38 p.m. — A 43-year-old West Salem man was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

Tuesday, July 8

4:51 p.m. — A 51-year-old West Salem man was arrested on a third offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Wednesday, July 9

2:17 a.m. — Damage was reported to a door at the Lions Shelter on East Avenue.

Thursday, July 10

10:44 p.m. — A 26-year-old Bangor man was arrested for bail jumping and was cited for a second offense of operating a vehicle after revocation,

Friday, July 11

5:58 p.m. — A 22-year-old Cashton man was cited for a third offense of operating a vehicle after revocation and for operating a motorcycle without a valid license.

Bangor

From July 1 to July 14, the Bangor Police Department made 21 traffic stops and assisted other agencies 10 times. In addition, the department reported the following incidents.

Thursday, July 3

10:40 p.m. — A 27-year-old man was arrested near the intersection of Highway U and Highway J in Rockland for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Monday, July 7

6 p.m. — A 43-year-old woman was cited for disorderly conduct on the 1300 block of Cardinal Street.

Wednesday, July 9

1:20 a.m. — A 17-year-old boy was issued an underage drinking citation during a traffic stop at Highway 162 and Highway B.

Wednesday, July 9

12:30 p.m. — Three juvenile boys were contacted for driving a go-kart on village street at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Commercial Street. They were warned and released.

Thursday, July 10

11 p.m. — An officer conducted a welfare check on an intoxicated 31-year-old woman on the 100 block of 18th Avenue S. She was taken to St. Francis Hospital where she voluntarily went into the detoxification unit.
