Grab the lemonade; here comes the heat

Cool drinks — and an umbrella, just in case — will be the order of the day, as hot and possibly stormy conditions are in the forecast for today.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today, ith a high near 92.

Tonight's forecast calls for a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low around 68.

Thunderstorms remain a possibility Wednesday through Monday. The forecast is for a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday through Friday, a slight chance Saturday, then a chance again Sunday and Monday.

Daytime highs are expected in the mid to upper 80s during the period, with nightime lows in the 60s to around 70.
