The following log is based on reports from the West Salem and Bangor police departments.

West Salem

For the week of June 13-20, the West Salem Police Department wrote eight traffic citations, wrote eight municipal citations, issued nine warnings, wrote five parking tickets and responded to two accidents. The following is a selection of incidents.

Friday, June 13

9:26 a.m. — A hit-and-run was reported on Wagon Drive near Branding Iron Road when a parked 2000 Honda Odyssey, owned by a Wildomar, Calif., man, was struck.

7 p.m. — A 59-year-old West Salem woman was cited for shoplifting after she left Hansen’s IGA without paying for $20.02 in gasoline.

Saturday, June 14

6:29 a.m. — A hit-and-run was reported on West Avenue N. near W. Franklin Street when a parked 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, owned by a West Salem man, was struck.

10:19 a.m. — A 23-year-old Desoto man was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

Sunday, June 15

2:30 a.m. — An 18-year-old West Salem man was cited for underage drinking.

12:13 p.m. — Attempted entry was reported at a residence on the 100 block of N. Harmony Street. A 21-year-old La Crosse man staying at the residence said he heard someone turning doorknobs at 3 a.m.

Tuesday, June 17

12:17 a.m. — A 46-year-old La Crosse man was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

4:50 a.m. — A 19-year-old West Salem woman and a 20-year-old West Salem man were cited for underage drinking.

7:50 p.m. — A hit-and-run was reported at Features Sports Bar & Grill after it’s believed a motor vehicle struck the building and took out a 4-by-8-inch section of concrete; the incident is believe to have occurred at 11:30 a.m.

Friday, June 20

4:58 a.m. — Damage to Village Park was reported after an officer discovered writings and drawings in the restrooms and the gazebo.

Bangor Police

From June 16-23, the Bangor Police Department made 21 traffic stops, assisted other agencies twice and wrote one parking ticket. In addition, the department reported the following incidents.

Monday, June 16

11:45 a.m. — A 23-year-old woman was found intoxicated and naked inside a vehicle on the 100 block of Oak Street in Rockland. She was subsequently turned over to a friend.

Tuesday, June 17

6:30 p.m. — A 40-year-old woman reported that two tanzanite rings were missing from her jewelry box after a large party at her house on the 1800 block of Wheldon Street in Bangor.

Wednesday, June 18

2:30 p.m. — A 56-year-old male and a 43-year-old male were cited for littering on the 200 block of Water Street in Rockland.

Thursday, June 19

11:47 a.m — A male party turned in a variety of credit cards found on the street belonging to the same individual. The cards were returned to their owner who said they’d fallen off his truck.

10:15 p.m. — An officer responded to report of a disturbance on the 1500 block of Commercial Street. Peace was restored and no arrests made.

Friday, June 20

11:47 a.m — On the 700 block of 14th Avenue South officers were checking an apartment for an individual wanted on an outstanding warrant. The individual was not there, but a 19-year-old male was arrested after it was discovered he was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Monroe County for unpaid parking tickets.

While in the apartment, the officers noticed what appeared to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Given a verbal authorization for a search of the house, the officers subsequently arrested a 20-year-old female for warehousing and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
