Published - Tuesday, June 17, 2008 Police reports The following log is based on reports from the West Salem and Bangor police departments. West Salem For the week of May 30 through June 6, the West Salem Police Department wrote seven traffic citations, issued six warnings and wrote eight parking tickets. The following is a selection of incidents. Friday, May 30 2:40 p.m. — A 52-year-old Mineral Point, Wis., man was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. Saturday, May 31 11:40 p.m. — A 19-year-old West Salem man was cited for violating a red traffic signal. Sunday, June 1 1:13 a.m. — A 28-year-old La Crosse man was cited for public disturbance after he tipped over a wadding pool used in a carnival game. 5:10 a.m. — A 30-year-old La Crosse man was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct after allegedly hitting a 30-year-old West Salem man in the head at Hunter’s Last Chance. Monday, June 2 9:52 p.m. — A 17-year-old Onalaska girl was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. Tuesday, June 3 8:45 a.m. — Damage to property was reported at Neshonoc Sports after someone pried open the outside bathroom door overnight. Bangor From May 31 to June 9, the Bangor Police Department made nine traffic stops and assisted other agencies eight times. In addition, the department reported the following incidents. Monday, June 2 8:50 p.m. — A 31-year-old male was given an ordinance citation for damage to property on the 1500 block of Commercial Street. Tuesday, June 3 10 a.m. — Four juveniles at Bangor High School were cited for truancy. 10:20 p.m. — An officer was called to the intersection of Hattan Street and Henry Johns Boulevard after report of a driver slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle. A 33-year-old woman was later cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Thursday, June 5 2 p.m. — A $700 Rug Doctor carpet shampooer was reported stolen from Hansen’s IGA.
