On May 19, Charter Communications Inc. announced the addition of Charter Telephone service to Melrose, Mindoro and Warrens, offering customers a new choice for telephone service.
Charter’s ongoing investment to extend technology into many of the rural areas of Wisconsin is in keeping with the spirit of meeting the needs of residents and businesses in order to maintain Wisconsin’s competitive advantage in industry and commerce, according to Lisa Washa, general manager and vice president of operations for Charter in Wisconsin.
“Providing a network that allows for global access and offers a high level of reliability is a worthy investment that we know will help keep our communities strong and facilitate economic development,” Washa said.
Over the past year, Charter has invested over $1 billion in capital to serve its customers and to enhance its service capabilities, including millions in Wisconsin.
“We’re pleased to now provide telephone service to complement our video and high-speed Internet services in Melrose, Mindoro and Warrens,” Washa said. “There’s great value and convenience in having one provider and only one bill for all three services.”
Charter currently serves more than 1 million telephone customers nationwide and is available to over 9.5 million homes, with additional launches of the service planned.
Charter Telephone service includes, at no additional charge, unlimited nationwide calling; 10 popular calling features including call waiting, caller ID, call forwarding and voicemail; and enhanced 911 emergency service. New customers can keep their current phone numbers when they switch to Charter Telephone service, and there is no charge for professional installation. For more information, go to www.charter.com.
