Charges were filed Monday against a Bangor woman accused of stealing prescription medications out of area homes.
Ingrid R. Herken, 28, was charged in La Crosse County Circuit Court with three counts each of possession of narcotics and misdemeanor theft.
Authorities said Herken admitted entering up to seven houses in La Crosse and Onalaska and taking prescription medications to support her drug addiction, according to a criminal complaint.
Herken would ask residents for directions, then say she was pregnant and request to use their bathroom. She stole a variety of narcotics, including Tramadol, Oxycodone or Vicodin, according to the complaint.
Several of Herken’s victims were able to identify her in a photo lineup, authorities said.
La Crosse County Circuit Judge Dale Pasell gave Herken a $5,000 signature bond and set a preliminary hearing for Nov. 8 before Judge Ramona Gonzalez.
