As the rain system that lasted over seven hours proceeded to move out of the La Crosse area on Saturday, a new rain system continued to develop in southeastern Minnesota.

Due to the threat of more rain later in the evening, La Crosse Speedway officials were forced to cancel the Aug. 4 racing at La Crosse Speedway.

The Trailer Race of Destruction has been rescheduled for next Saturday, Aug. 11, presented by USG And United Building Centers. In addition to the Late Model, Sportsmen and Thunderstox racing action, a fireworks extravaganza will cap off the evening, presented by La Crosse Truck Center.

Admission is $12, and kids age 6 through 11 are $4. Gates open at 5 p.m., time trials are at 5:45 p.m. and the first race is at 7:15 p.m.

Next weekend also includes round four of Friday Street Drags, presented by The U.S. Army and Steve Low’s Midwest Toyota Scion. Plus, a burnout contest will thrill the participants and fans, presented by Full Throttle energy drink, with a cash prize for the best burnouts.

Admission is just $5 and kids age 11 and under are free while pit passes are all $5. Pits open at 6 p.m., practice runs at 6:30 p.m. and drag brackets begin at 7:30 p.m.
